9/27-28 weekend update

Wow, busy weekend!
My brother Andrew was in town from Chicago. It was great to see him although I think we wore him out with all of the typical activities. I had 5 soccer games that I had to attend / manage / coach with my 3 daughters: Lauren (9), Sophie (7) and Molly (5). And I got to play in the parent vs teacher game at Academie Lafayette - parents won 2-1, my efforts were not a factor in the victory.

Academie Lafayette is such a great school and community. There were maybe a couple of hundred spectators for the game Friday. A great turnout! Dave Cozad, the president of A.L.'s Board of Directors, and I were talking about how rare it is to have so many families involved in a school's activities on a daily basis. It's really a wonderful thing for our kids and a testament to the school. I'm looking forward to serving on the board - my first meeting is coming up next week.

So besides soccer, we were able to squeeze in a dinner party at the Cozad's Friday night and a house party at Justin Scott's Saturday night to hear the Low Standards play. A fun weekend, but I'm not sure when we'll get my brother Andrew to visit again.
